Dear Members and Friends of DECC!

Now is time for re-opening and getting together, enjoying the weather and the chance of being able to meet and socialize again!

The current market situation is a bit challenging. Almost all raw materials, from metal to wheat, are increasing in price. The same situation is on the real estate market and there is a building boom ongoing. This increases the risk of an overheated market, as well the risk of dramatic inflation within the next 3 or 4 months. These are all aspects that we need to encounter as we are reopening the society and getting ready for the remaining of 2021.

In DECC we are also getting into gear, and a lot is going on. Already this week we have several events. FICE has conducted their annual survey and is ready to present this on Wednesday with prominent speakers from the government and private sector. On Thursday, after a long break we can finally meet again in hyggelige atmosphere for our Nordic Scanworking Thursday, a networking event organized jointly by the Danish, swedisn and Norwegian chambers.

This year, we celebrate the 100 years of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Estonia. On Friday you have the great opportunity to attend the live stream event organized for this occation. You can also test your skills in the fine sport of golf at the British Estonian Chamber of Commerce Open Golf tournament on June 5. On June 8, EAS will have an interesting webinar about latest trends and opportunities for wooden houses in Denmark. And for all DECCs members, mark the Valdemar's Day on June 15 in your calendar - an invitation will soon arrive in your inbox.

I look forward to meet you all in person soon. In the meantime, I wish you all the best of luck with reopening and an upcoming summer!

Best regards

Peter Thomsen
Chairman of the Council
Danish-Estonian Chamber of Commerce
